Successful businesses are tapping into the true nature of human beings, cooperative.  In today's economy, global corporations seemingly have endless resources and legal loopholes in place to smother out the competition.  If they can't directly compete with industry disruptions, the corporations will acquire their competition - creating higher barriers to entry for the next company entering the market. Entrepreneurial companies are tasked with creatively finding inefficiencies within these 'economies of scale' created by multinationals. In order to capitalize on those inefficiencies and progress industries forward, smaller companies need access to resources and to have a well equipped team.  By cooperating and joining forces with other innovative companies, these businesses are successfully spreading the costs to achieve similar economies of scales - and creating transparent, meaningful branding in the interim.  Companies combining forces only serves to grow the size of the overall pie and the size of the market - creating more opportunities for all in the market.  By splitting marketing dollars across organizations and cross-promoting, smaller companies are able to band together to create wins.  These wins require creativity and conscious business practices, practices the reflect our true nature.   It is as much about who you know as it is how you treat and cooperate with those who you know along the path.

As industries continue to consolidate with larger multinational companies acquiring smaller businesses and technologies, the ability to create sustainable growth becomes more difficult.  The old paradigm path went as follows: grow a business to an acquirable size and then sell that business to a larger strategic for the highest multiple.  Decades of this behavior has created monopolistic industries littered with landmines.  Growing companies are finding that continuing to play that same game isn't the most effective way towards creating sustainable growth. Rather, these companies that are disrupting their fields, re-imaging how things are done and how to more efficiently create solutions are the ones positioned to succeed in our evolving society.  Smaller, entrepreneurial companies can disrupt their industries, sometimes even creating new industries as a result.  This is the wave of the Conscious Company, disruption.

The more we learn about quantum physics and energy waves, the more we realize the interconnected nature of life itself.  Atoms can be broken down infinitely smaller into energy waves and quarks the same as our cosmos can be expanded to include billions of galaxies. Despite the vastness of the cosmos, we have discovered that energy affected on the smallest scale is felt across the universe,a phenomenon called nonlocality. The energy connection across even the grandest of scales shows the interconnected nature of our universe - both large and small.  Humans and not removed from this equation.  Rather, how humans act impacts everything around them (nature, animals, one another, etc.). This makes conscious, sustainable business practices very important.  Each component part of a business is connected with all aspects of society. Successful businesses in the evolving paradigm realize the importance operating and succeeding in relation to society's benefit as a whole.  Each individual component (i.e. employees, products, etc.) creates a whole system.  All components have a significant impact on the system as a whole as well as on their fellow component parts.  Hence, each component much be viewed from the perspective  how it benefits the overall system.  

More and more successful business leaders are turning to meditation and spiritual practices to guide their decision-making process.  The ability to go inward and be still is becoming increasingly more valuable in today's fast-paced, cut-throat world.  These thoughtful leaders are bringing these practices into the workplace, allowing corporation to go inward and be still.  This skill is especially beneficial in times of chaos or opportunity - when competitors may make rash, disconnected decisions.  Given that our world will continue to speed up with new technologies and opportunities, businesses and business leaders that are equipped to handle problems with a sense of equanimity will have a critical advantage.      

Making change, especially proactive, forward-thinking change is hard; it takes truly dedicated, steadfast persistence.  Business leaders that go against the grain and challenge 'the way it has always been' are bound to face obstacles. These obstacles have been strengthened over time and are a result of our current power dynamic.  The uphill battle against these obstacles requires leaders that are willing to get into the trenches, roll up their sleeves and be the change.  In our age of instant gratification, it is easy to become inpatient and settle for an easier path.  However, it is those leaders that relentlessly follow their vision and take the losses in stride that ultimately reach their goal.  

Each generation is ultimately defined by its progress, its impact on the history of mankind and our universe.  Individuals and businesses that continue to push the collective consciousness further will be those that bring new ideas and progress to fruition.  Given the speed of today's world, this is happening at a much more frequent pace.  Yet, it is important to aim this progress in a conscious manner.  The direction of the progress, and not the extent of progress is each generation's ultimate defining characteristic.  This is why it is crucial for our progress to benefit not only our current generation, but all future generations.  It is our progress and our direction that future generations will either build upon or be forced to deconstruct.  Business leaders and industries must operate with this in mind and will be forced to do so in the evolving landscape.
